The Texas State School of Criminal Justice and Criminology works with a variety of centers and labs.

ALERRT Center

The Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) Center is the only national training program whose primary mission is responding to the active shooter threat, and is the national standard in active shooter response training.

TCJC

The mission of the Texas Crime and Justice Center (TCJC) is to facilitate applied research and the expansion of evidence-based knowledge regarding crime and best practices in response to crime in the region and throughout Texas, the Southwest, and the nation.

GII

The Center for Geospatial Intelligence and Investigation (GII) studies how to improve our response to crime problems and homeland security threats, both foreign and domestic.

The Jones Research Lab

Dr. Angela Jones applies expertise in experimental and survey methodology to design studies assessing public perceptions of procedural justice concerning police and courts, and evaluations of unreliable evidence that could lead to wrongful convictions.

TxSSC

The Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC) creates and disseminates safety and security information, through research, training, and technical assistance, for K-12 schools and junior colleges throughout Texas.

TJCTC

The mission of the Texas Justice Court Training Center (TJCTC) is to provide quality education opportunities for justices of the peace, constables and court personnel, enabling them to better serve the people of the State of Texas.
