Two New Faculty Join to School in Fall 2025
The School of Criminal Justice and Criminology is proud to welcome two new faculty members for the 2025–26 academic year. Learn more about each of our new faculty below.
Dr. Logan Somers
Logan Somers joins the School as an Assistant Professor. He earned his Ph.D. in Criminology and Criminal Justice at Arizona State University. His research agenda involves working with local, county, and federal law enforcement agencies on emerging topics within policing such as officer experience, police use of force, police culture, and evidence-based policing. His work has appeared in Criminology & Public Policy, Justice Quarterly, Police Practice and Research, and Criminal Justice and Behavior.
Dr. Seth Watts
Seth Watts joins the School as an Assistant Professor. He received his Ph.D. from Arizona State University in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice. His research interests broadly include policing and program evaluation, with a particular focus on the role of the police in the opioid crisis and related public health issues, and technological innovation within police departments. His work has appeared in American Journal of Criminal Justice, American Journal of Public Health, Journal of Experimental Criminology, and Journal of Criminal Justice.
